About this cause

Volunteer-run North Wirral Cats Protection focuses on homing, neutering and education. Finding the right home for unwanted and stray cats and kittens, encouraging and supporting neutering of owned and feral cats, as well as improving people’s understanding of feline needs to ensure cats get the best care, are central to our day-to-day activities. Our fundraising team helps to cover our costs by regularly attending community events such as food fairs and local festivals, in parallel with seeking new promotional partnerships. Rescued cats are cared for by our dedicated fosterers in their own homes. We do not have shelter facilities. Everything we do is underpinned by our vision for a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Funds raised by North Wirral Branch cover the costs associated with cats and kittens in our care including food, veterinary fees, medical treatment and supplies for our foster carers, as well as equipment for volunteers involved in capturing strays for rehoming and feral cats for neutering. Neutering is one of North Wirral Branch’s core objectives and is carried in partnership with local vets. Dedicated volunteers advise on neutering pet cats and subsdising costs for low-income earners, as well as preventing feral colonies from multiplying.
