Balmedie Leisure Centre is a charitable organisation, established in 1986 as a Management Committee of local volunteers to"provide a range of community learning, sporting and leisure based opportunities to individuals and community groups at reasonable cost" After several years of planning, fundraising beachside coffee shop finally opened its doors. The committee have embarked on a programme of expansion and energy efficiency improvements, not only to reduce costs but to improve the look and appeal of the centre. Our latest project is to refurbish all toilets and changing rooms as well as improve the outside seating area for the coffee shop. We are looking to make it more child friending by enclosing the patio area with fencing and installing a kids climbing frame.
