11th Ayrshire (Stevenston) Scout Group
Social Inclusion
We want to offer our children scouting adventures through funded camps, equipment and tuition.
About this cause
Our objectives have each and every young member at it heart. For some of our young members whom live in poverty we want to continue to offer the scouting experience where they feel included, safe, happy and excited! We try to offer camps, days out or experiences where they will meet friends for life. These events are all some of our young members have to look forward to across their whole year so it is vitally important to keep these going. We want to give the community something which they can take ownership of and feel proud of being a part. We are a relatively new group and have grown immensely the past 3 years. We want to continue to grow. We want to offer our Syrian friends recently housed in the local area something through scouting friendship and inclusion.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We have grown our Group by 3 times the amount of kids since opening. To witness the look on each face when we take them on Scouting holidays, is enough to take your breath away. Some of our most enthusiatic, articulate, wholesome kids come from some of the poorest backgrounds. We want to support them by lifting them from poverty and by showing them they have potential to attain great things.
