We want to ensure that our memory cafe has full support and can continue for a long time to come.
About this cause
The Netherfield Forum is a charitable organisation originally formed by residents of Netherfield in 1987. The Forum owns and manages the St Georges Centre – a self funded information hub at the heart of the community, along with the Loco Centre, a converted Methodist church it leases from the church to provide youth provision and services, activities and training courses and opportunities to the wider community. 2014 the Netherfield Forum were recognised for their achievements and received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services (MBE).
How this cause brings people in the community together
Over 70 carers are within the Netherfield area caring for those living with dementia. Providing support will hopefully help the isolation this disease can cause for both. We are involving local doctors, Councillors, NHS staff , NCC Carers Hub, to help with support & information.
