About this cause

Red Cafe Community Project is part of Linden Church Trust. Since 2001 our objective has been to be “Bringing People Together”. Initially this was through open access youth work for 11-18 year olds but later projects diversified to include support for people of all ages including pre-school age children and babies, their parents and carers, young people attending school and those excluded, refugees and asylum seekers, people needing the support of a foodbank, over 50s and people living with dementia. This is done through a parent and toddler group, youth nights, schools work, music based education, film making, befriending & support, dementia day care, choirs, coffee mornings, rest and relaxation group and provision of a food bank. We intend to use film making to support well being.

How this cause brings people in the community together

We will use the films to increase understanding of mental health & useful coping strategies among young people. The intensive process will have a therapeutic effect for the 6 individuals & the wider community will have the opportunity to benefit positively from their experiences. We will deliver assemblies, lessons & workshops in Bishopston and Bishop Gore Comprehensive and local community groups.
