We want to buy recumbent KMX bikes for our outdoor cycle track for local youngsters with disabilities, and an on-site defibrillator.
About this cause
We provide rides on specially adapted cycles including trikes and tandems and side by sides and recumbent bikes primarily for youngsters with either, or both, learning and physical disabilities. We also support youngsters with Autism, Challenging Behaviour and other challenges. This is done on a supervised outdoor track at Cantray, near Cawdor. It gives the youngsters many things, including sports activity, fresh air and the outdoors, social interaction and social inclusion, improved and increased confidence, and for their Parents, Siblings and Carers both respite and happiness.
How this cause brings people in the community together
It shows the local youngsters with disabilities - and their families and Carers - that they are valuable, and valued, members of their community, and will not be left behind. The service provided gives them the opportunity both to participate in, and enjoy, the activities offered, and for them to show what they are capable of - our Motto is "Regardless of Ability, to the Best of One's Ability"
