We are rebuilding our old scout hut to become an inspirational new building for scouting groups and as a day centre for other groups.
About this cause
Topsham Adventure Centre (TAC) is a fairly new charity set up to fundraise for, project manage, build and run the old Scout Hut which was rendered unusable in the January/February 2014 floods. TAC will be a new inspirational building and is a joint venture with other organisations with similar objectives, in particular to improve lives within our Community. TAC will be the new home for Topsham Scouts and will also be a Community hub for Community Equality Disability Action (CEDA- Charity Number 1096528) which provides learning and social opportunities for young people with disabilities. TAC is also supported by The Mede which is a local day club for people with dementia who will be able to use TAC for occasional outings.
How this cause brings people in the community together
This will be a wonderful place on the edge of Topsham Recreation Ground/River Exe which can be used by the Youth of Topsham and beyond to include Topsham Scouts and people with disabilities and people living with Dementia and their Carers.
