We would like to install a ‘Music trail’ for children at Manor school and also share it with the local community at appropriate times.
About this cause
Friends of Manor (FoM) is a Parent and Teacher Association. We organize events for children and parents like Christmas Bazaar, Summer Fete, discos and others. They are usually attended by the wider community. The raised money helps offer ‘wow’ money for each school year at the teacher’s request. The ‘wow’ money pays for things like for example African drumming, mini beast visits, and coaches for school trips that would not have been possible without our support. Our objectives are to advance the education of pupils in the school in particular by 1) developing effective relationships between the staff parents and others associated with the school and 2) engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Sharing this music experience with the local community would create a happier environment. Making music would give children a feeling of belonging to the group which is essential in school life and, especially rewarding for shy or limited abilities children who may find it difficult joining in on activities. Enabling a child to freely participate is confidence building and motivational and fun!
