The Regimental Museum of The Royal Welsh
Art & Culture
We want to buy a high-specification laptop to help with the Museum's education programme.
About this cause
The mission statement of The Regimental Museum of The Royal Welsh is as follows. • To maintain a leading military museum telling the story of over 300 years of service by soldiers of the 24th Regiment, the 41st Regiment, the 69th Regiment, the South Wales Borderers, the Monmouthshire Regiment, The Welch Regiment, The Royal Regiment of Wales and The Royal Welsh by displaying a range of artefacts in an informative and attractive manner to the widest possible audience. • To assist in keeping the modern Army and the Regiment in the public eye as a benefit to recruiting and awareness. • To conserve and document the Regimental archives and artefacts. • To make the archives and artefacts accessible to researchers and families of those who have served, and for educational purposes.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The Museum receives visits from all over Powys (and indeed from throughout Wales), as the quality of the hands-on experience we offer schools is unrivalled by any other museum. The time children spend with us is marred by the unreliability of our laptop. We do not know if it will run the software we use, and many visits are spoiled as we have to restart the programs due to unpredictable crashes.
