We want to replace our general camping equipment – including pots, pans, and gas stoves – most of which is more than 40 years old.
About this cause
The aim of Scouting is to promote the development of young people. The Scout programme provides a comprehensive scheme of progressive training based on the Scout Law & Promise. As an independent Group within Southwark Scout District the 12th Camberwell provide a balanced programme to meet the above objectives. We run a weekly meeting and support this by badgework activities at weekends, and through attendance at District events and our own camps and activities. We have just held a very successful, and wet, week long Scout Camp held in Winchester. This included visits to the Science Centre and the local water mill, Tomahawk throwing, and a full day at Marwell Activity centre.
How this cause brings people in the community together
It will give us more modern and usable equipment which will help make camps easier to run without having the current battered and out of shape equipment we currently use.
