About this cause
Jigsaw Plus aims to improve the lives of adults with autism and their families. Autism is a condition that impairs a person’s natural instinct to communicate and form relationships. Clients' personal plans are individually tailored to meet their social, educational and developmental needs. Jigsaw is one of very few services in the local area providing opportunities that meet the needs of people with autism, particularly those with more challenging behaviours. It is widely acknowledged that people with autism are amongst the most vulnerable and socially excluded in our society, often with little choice in where they live, what work they can do and who looks after them. We fundraise to provide clients with every opportunity to reach their full potential in life.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Art is widely used as a method of communication. All participating clients will be given the opportunity to express their thoughts, feelings and aspirations helping them relate to their local community. Art brings pleasure and a feeling of achievement allowing clients to demonstrate their artistic abilities through the creation of pieces of artwork which can be displayed and sold in the community.
