About this cause
The main purpose of Glantawe (Swansea Valley) Lions Club is to support the needs of the Swansea Valley community. We have been in existence since 1973, supporting individuals and groups. Each year we give out over 180 food parcels to the needy at Christmas; we support the Dyfed Ward, Children's Burns Unit and the Oakwood Children's Unit both at Morriston Hospital. We hold a School Quiz each year when students from 5 Comprehensive Schools in the Swansea Valley take part. 2017 is the Centenary of Lions Clubs International we are undertaking several extra projects, we will be holding Centennial Tea Parties and will be inviting along 200 senior citizens from all parts of the Valley for a party. Defibrillators in Birchgrove, our target is to raise enough money to purchase 5-7 defibrillators.
