About this cause

YFM has over 23 years experience supporting the needs of vulnerable, disadvantaged and isolated individuals in Totton. YFM works primarily with children, young people and families whose lives are impacted by crisis, multiple disadvantage, mental illness, disability, abuse or serious illness. Individuals and families are referred to us by social services, local schools, CAMHS, CMHT, other agencies involved or by self-referral. Through our established Youth and Family Work programmes, YFM’s wide-ranging and integrated project base delivers 360-degree early intervention support, training and education with the aim of enabling our clients to better cope with their circumstances, and to have the skills and confidence to improve them.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Basics Bank is a lifeline to individuals and families in the community facing hardship and/or crises. Individuals / families are referred for Basics Bank on a voucher basis from partner organisations to receive five days worth of emergency groceries. Upgrading resources will mean that the Basics Bank can better manage demand for this service, in turn helping local people cope in difficult times.
