About this cause

We are a large and oversubscribed Rainbow Unit in Earsdon, North Tyneside. We have 25 girls who work on badges and do crafts, games, songs and trips once a week. We come from a very mixed economical area and so many of our girls struggle with funds for extra trips and sleeps and cost uniform. We try to provide opportunities for girls to have fun and relax outside of school and grow in themselves and develop independence and creativity, but also gain new experiences such as sleeping out of home for the first time or holding a giant snake around their necks!

How this cause brings people in the community together

We are linked with the church in Earsdon. We would be able to hold more events and let more people know about St Albans and therefore promote a small church and community and gather interest to all the events in our hall. Having new equipment would also mean I could have more girls as sharing would be so tight and open Rainbows up to girls from the area as many near by units have closed
