We want to purchase a wooden outdoor classroom for one of our playgrounds.
About this cause
All the parents and staff are automatically members of the Raglan Schools Association which is the name for our PTA and all work is done on a voluntary basis. Our main objective is to raise money for the school to benefit all pupils, which we do via various events including a Summer Fun Day. There are lots of other events held throughout the year which we advertise in the form of Newsletters, posters around the school and flyers in the children’s book bags. The funds raised go to pay for lots of different things, all focused around increasing the schools resources. We also use our activities to strengthen community relationships between families, school staff and local businesses.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Raglan has recently received Ofsted rating of 'Good'. Evidence has shown that this kind of environment can help increase self esteem and improve pupils’ personal, social and emotional development. It will help to make learning relevant as well as giving pupils an opportunity for fresh air and exercise. Most children attending the school live within one mile of the school.
