About this cause

Secret World specialises in the rescue, rehabilitation and eventual release of sick, injured and orphaned British wildlife. Each year we take in and care for over 5,000 animals, from harvest mice, bats and birds to badgers, swans, hedgehogs, foxes, deer and otters, with a primary objective to get them back into the wild where they belong. Alongside this, Secret World also delivers a comprehensive education programme to engage children of all ages, from primary through to university, sharing knowledge about British wildlife, heritage, conservation and the environment, and engendering empathy and respect. Run entirely on donations, Secret World remains a vital wildlife rescue service in the South West.

How this cause brings people in the community together

A group of SEN students will help create the wildlife garden, supporting their development of life skills and show the wider community what can be done to care for wildlife in the garden. The nature trail will be incorporated into lesson plans extending lessons into the local countryside for visiting school groups. The local community can also enjoy it.
