About this cause

Our Vision is that Football will be a sport where people flourish in a supportive community. We are based in one of the most economically deprived areas of the North East. We offer children a place that is safe to play and grow positive friendships. We have achieved the highest standard available to grass roots clubs. We have also been presented a 'shining light' excellence award from David Cameron for the work we do with children to reduce antisocial behaviour. We work with over 400 children a week, as well as football training we take them on trips, provide summer camps. For older youths, we fund courses for them to attend to encourage the first step on the employment ladder. We have developed one of the largest leagues in the country, for players with a disability/ mental illness.

How this cause brings people in the community together

We want to encourage new players many of our disabled community are isolated and without support. We to reduce social isolation and encourage players to challenge perception and empower players to reach their full potential. We want to advice, support and deliver activities that allow disabled people to take control of their lives and become more independent, confident and part of the community.
