We want to build showers and toilets so that we can utilise our building and land as a venue for inner city and deprived scouts to visit.
About this cause
We are 1st Agnes Scouts. We offer a wide range of activities to boys and girls from the age of 6 through to 15. We currently have nearly 85 children attending on a weekly basis across Beavers, Cubs and Scouts and we have a catchment area covering Goonhavern, St Allen, Perranporth, Mithian, Mount Hawke, Porthtowan and St Agnes. Demand for places is extremely high and we have waiting lists at all levels. Scouting exists to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society. At St Agnes Scouts, we always ensure all individuals are included regardless of any financial issues as this is what we all believe Scouts was created for and no individual should miss out through no fault of their own.
How this cause brings people in the community together
This is a huge opportunity to create a long lasting legacy for St Agnes Scouts and all of our visitors. By improving our facilities we would be able to invite other Scouts groups around the UK to visit Cornwall. This would allow St Agnes Scouts to generate a small annual income, reducing our costs and enabling the local community to continue to benefit from our enhanced facilities.
