Young People
We want to buy additional camping and training equipment to ensure that we can all go camping together.
About this cause
The Scout Group runs a Beaver Colony and a Cub Pack with a combine membership of up to 40 boys and girls. We aim to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society. Beavers and cubs are encouraged to act with Integrity and respect whilst supporting others and exploring faiths, beliefs and attitudes. They are also encouraged to make a positive difference; we cooperate with others and make friends, taking part in joint camps and other events. We meet on a weekly basis and learn such skills as map reading, personal, home and fire safety, first aid, photography and communication skills. We regularly try out new sports such as Tennis and Golf as well as fun activities such as boating, skating and tobogganing.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The group is open to young girls and boys in Berrow and the surrounding area including the villages of East Brent, Brent Knoll and Lympsham. The youngsters are taught life skills and encouraged to be constructive members of the community through scouting activities and values. The Group is always looking for adult helpers, willing to join the scouting movement and help our youngsters develop.
