About this cause
Based on Lindum Street the Scunthorpe Samaritans branch currently has 50 listening volunteers and 30 support volunteers, but they are always looking to recruit more people to ensure they can continue to offer the service to the local community. Samaritans offers round-the-clock emotional support for anyone feeling down, depressed, anxious or unhappy. The confidential service is offered by phone, email, text, letter and face-to-face.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our Vision is that fewer people die by suicide. Every 90 minutes someone in the UK or Ireland dies of suicide and our trailer will raise awareness of our free phone number in case anyone needs us.
