About this cause

We help girls and women by providing them with adequate Menstrual Hygiene products. They could be the homeless, domestic violence shelters, refugee camps or low income communities. We have developed a menstrual health education programme that we would like to provide to schools in low income areas. We also run a global media campaign to #SmashShame around menstruation and highlight the stigma and taboos so that we can normalise the conversation. It's a problem here in the UK that most are unaware of and we have been tackling the issues for the last three years. Our work started abroad but this year we are concentrating our efforts at home.

How this cause brings people in the community together

It will empower the girls to understand themselves and not be ashamed when they menstruate. We will equip the teachers with the knowledge to continue providing education so that the community benefits longer term. We will also provide menstrual pads to aid and keep the girls in school and minimise absence due to lack of affordable products.
