About this cause

St. Helens Mind aims to promote and preserve good mental health and to assist those experiencing mental distress to regain their full potential. Our aim is to support people aged 18+ who are experiencing mental health difficulties in St. Helens Borough so they achieve their full potential and play an active part in community life. We aim to help people living in St. Helens regardless of their cultural, religious and lifestyle needs. Our services are non-judgemental and offer opportunities to develop self-esteem and confidence by encouraging and supporting involvement. St. Helens Mind provides the following: Befriending Service, Social Groups & Activities, Volunteering Opportunities, Signposting. Our projects are imaginative and reactive to our service users’ needs.

How this cause brings people in the community together

We encourage volunteers and service users form all areas of the community to visit the site. We also use it for open days to promote our work and challenge stigma and promote wellbeing. People become aware of our other services as well and therefore can benefit from input into those. Mind UK states there are 5 Ways to Wellbeing: Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Learn and Give = our allotment
