About this cause

Culcheth District has 4 rainbow units, 4 brownie units, 3 guide units and 1 senior section unit. We currently have 211 young members aged from 5 to 18. We provide a safe space for these young members to make friends, have fun, learn new skills and develop their confidence. All of this is made possible through a team of inspiring volunteers who give their time, expertise and enthusiasm. We also provide specialist support to girls and young women with additional needs so that they can experience all that Girlguiding has to offer.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Currently no rainbow, brownie or guide units meet in Glazebrook, Glazebury or Hollins Green. Existing members have to travel to units in Culcheth. These communities are cut off from the opportunities which Girlguiding has to offer. New units in these villages will increase social cohesion, engaging girls and young women in meaningful social activities, broadening horizons and raising expectations.
