About this cause

The Club is an active Drama Club with a membership aged 8 to 75. Our main event each year is a pantomime which began in 1996 in order to give local youngsters an Autumn/Winter activity. This also provides local villagers and many from further afield with a show performed at a professional standard. We also take part, with some success, in One Act Play Festivals, entering both adult and youth teams. We host an annual "Comedy" Festival which attracts people from all over Scotland to perform sketches and short plays. We also host an annual Burns Supper, free of charge to the senior citizens of the village. Last year we had our first Santa's grotto, enabling local children to meet Santa at minimal cost with no need to leave the village. We aim to promote community drama and enhance lives.

How this cause brings people in the community together

A large percentage of local young people have taken part in our drama activities and will continue to do so. It is very beneficial in terms of learning and discipline, as well as being a fun social activity. Equally many adults have benefited from participation, whether on stage or behind the scenes. We operate out of our village hall and offer our equipment for use by other community groups.
