We want to develop our garden area and purchase a water feature for residents and their families.
About this cause
Sussex housing provides accommodation for the elderly and vulnerable across Sussex. I am the scheme manager for Cheneys Lodge in Seaford which is sheltered accommodation for 41 people. the residents are requesting the gardens be developed further. The gardens are used by residents and their visitors to take a gentle stroll and to get some fresh air. Gardens are very important to lift the spirits of the elderly as well as providing some exercise. Residents are particularly interested in having a water feature however the costs are beyond the gardening fund . It would provide a real focal point of interest and somewhere to sit and reflect.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Residents families come and visit and we get a lot of members of the public who come in and use the disabled friendly environment. we want to welcome more of the public and use the gardens as a focus for their enjoyment.
