We would like to make sure that the band can continue playing concerts in the local area by purchasing jackets, new music and instruments.
About this cause
We are an all age community concert band who have been playing together since February 2014. We welcome players of all ages and standards. Our aims are: To create an all age concert band for instrument players of all standards To encourage inter-generational opportunities within the community To encourage more young people to continue playing an instrument at High School and beyond To encourage older residents who used to play an instrument in their youth to re-start To encourage adults to have-a-go at playing an instrument We rehearse every Thursday during school terms and play 10-12 concerts through the year in the local area. We have been growing steadily in our 3 years of existence and hope to continue this into the future!
How this cause brings people in the community together
In this rural community the band acts as a focus for people in the immediate vicinity and from further afield to come together and share a love of playing music. We have families who play together, including grandparents and grandchildren and band members enjoy the chance to share activities with their friends and neighbours. We help strengthen community cohesion through our concerts and events.
