Middlefield Community Project
Social Inclusion
Help us pay for swimming pool hire so we can teach children to swim when parents cannot afford it.
About this cause
Middlefield Community Project provides services for and by the community. We have a wide range of Under 5's services and have 70 children aged between 10 months and 5 years old, full and part time. We have a new cafe and this is going well with volunteers helping out and allowing the local community to come together. We have parent and adult learning groups going on. We have a youth hub and this is open 40 hours per week for young people from 11 to 25 years old from around the hub area. We have under 11's and work with three clubs per week and we do play schemes in Easter, Summer and October. At This time we are trying to develop a more active community in partnership with other agencies.
How this cause brings people in the community together
In the Middlefield, Cummings park and Marchburn area there is a high level of children that cannot swim and do not get the chance to do this on a regular basis. We provide 14 children the chance to learn over a year. This means they are safer around water or going into a swimming pool. As they get older they can access the swimming pool on their own and enjoy the fun.
