About this cause
Provision of creative therapeutic service for adults with severe and enduring mental health issues. The service is free and open 5 days a week 10:00am to 3:30pm The barge is home to a fully fitted woodwork shop and art space, with 5 sessional workers, all part-time, the project director is the only full-time staff member . The projects ethos is to create a space where people through the creative therapeutic process can self empower and enable themselves In a non judgemental, safe quasi-familial environment, supporting them to achieve their own goals, supporting them on their recovery pathway. There is no time limit, as mental health doesn't end, people experience fractured lives and having a constant foundation like Cathja is very important.
