We would like to refurbish our 1970s toilet area and increase accessibility to the disabled and those with mobility problems.
About this cause
To further or benefit the residents of Oakworth and the neighbourhood, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said residents and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents. The Trust will maintain the current social, educational & healthy activities which are currently running from the building as this currently caters for over 300 members of the community, from the very young to the not so young.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We believe that the community as a whole will become a more cohesive & be a more interactive society through the modernization of it's village meeting place, giving rise to a more open and friendly community. We also believe that by making the building more accessible to the older and/or those disabled in society, it will give rise to more opportunities for community involvement for those people.
