Making Connections is our new outreach programme. We want to do hour-long technology 'taster sessions' for older people around Bristol.
About this cause
Age UK Bristol helps everyone in Bristol love later life by supporting and empowering older people, helping other organisations work together and championing the interest of older people in the city. We offer a range of services, including our information and advice service, housing support, telephone befriending and IT learning courses. I am the Fundraising Officer for Age UK Bristol. I work to raise much needed funds for our work. Funds are raised through individual donations, events and foundation grants.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We want to reduce loneliness and isolation in older people in Bristol. They will feel comfortable enough with technology to use it to contact friends and family wherever they may be. The learners will engage with technology and see how they can use it and how it could enrich their life. After the session, learners could sign up for further computer courses at Age UK Bristol or other organisations
