About this cause

We are a Brownie unit, part of girlguiding UK and we welcome all girls aged seven to eleven. We promote fun, friendship, education and independence. We enjoy outings, parties and take part in church services/parades for Thinking Day and Remembrance. Our activity badges incorporate both fun and educational subjects such as Entertainer and First Aid. Our Brownie Guide Law is "A Brownie thinks of others before herself and does a good turn every day", we encourage the girls to remember this as they journey through life and encourage them to extend friendship to others and become good citizens. Our role, however small, is to help prepare the girls for adult life and teach them to be independent and confident young ladies.

How this cause brings people in the community together

The girls learn to think of others and to appreciate what they have in life. The co-op members are thinking of others within their community and are being very generous by contributing to local groups. This in turn teaches the girls that although it is always nice to receive gifts it is also nice to give. Receiving this support from the co-op allows us to continue our work with the girls.
