About this cause
Girlguiding Fermanagh is the most westerly county within Girlguiding UK, a leading charity for girls and young women. We give girls and young women a space where they can be themselves, have fun, build friendships, gain valuable skills and make a positive difference to their lives and communities. We build girls’ confidence and raise their aspirations. We give them the chance to discover their full potential and encourage them to be a powerful force for good.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Taking part in outdoor play enables young people to enjoy the natural environment and learn to seek out exercise, fresh air, and activity. Thus outdoor play develops disposition for the outdoors, for physical activity, and for care of the environment. Children who learn to enjoy the outdoors have a much higher likelihood of becoming adults who enjoy physical activity and other outdoor pursuits.
