About this cause

Scouting exists to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society. We try to fulfill these aims by providing enjoyable and attractive schemes of progressive training based around the Scout Law and Promise, guided by Adult Leadership. The Group runs Beavers, Cubs and Scout Sections from age 6-14. The Scout Group also hosts two Explorer Scout Groups aged 14-18, and 2nd Appleton Guide Group ages 10-14. Scouting and Guiding helps children and young adults reach their full potential. They develop skills including teamwork, time management, leadership, initiative, planning, communication, self-motivation, cultural awareness and commitment. We help young people to get jobs, save lives and even change the world.

How this cause brings people in the community together

We offer adventure around traditional Scouting skills along with keeping up with newer trends. The Scout Group has been serving the Appleton and local area for over 55 years, with whole families through the group - and even children and grandchildren of former members. We are actively involved in the area - from Bawming the Thorn, Stretton Walking Day, Remembrance Sunday and St Georges Day.
