We want to buy a wooden gazebo which could be used as an outdoor classroom for science activities and to perform plays.
About this cause
Llannon School Parent Teachers' Association helps organise events to support school projects and raise money to provide value added experiences for pupils. I am the headteacher and a member of the PTA. As budgets are continually being cut we aim to ensure that our pupils have adequate resources, experiences and stimulating learning environments to meet curriculum needs. Mrs Charlotte Jones is the chairperson. We work with the pupils ensuring they have a voice in the activities we organise and how we spend the funds raised. During a pupil voice sessions the pupils noted that they would like to be able to do more out door activities all year round and not only during the summer months. Therefore, have asked the PTA for a gazebo with sides.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The school community would benefit from the extra space in the outdoor where it could used as an outdoor classroom for Eco, gardening, science activities. Also they could use it as a mini theatre to perform in - plays, open air concerts etc The WI and the Young Farmers Club who meet in the school hall would also be welcome to use it as a meeting place in the summer terms and to host events.
