We want to replace an existing minibus in order to meet the demands for the service we provide.
About this cause
The Bedale Community Minibus(BCM) is a charitable non profit making organisation. Th aims and objectives being: To provide transport faculties in the Bedale and surrounding area for people who have special needs of such facilities because they are disabled,elderly or living in isolated places where there is no adequate transport. The BCM operate two vehicles which are specially adapted in order to meet these requirements.The vehicles are used for theater trips social outings.The local village schools use the vehicle for school trips,also to convey special needs children to various activities. The local Scouts and Guides and youth groups also use the vehicle. The BCM operate a weekly shopping service for people to attend a local market. The vehicle are operated by volunteer drivers.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The is an increasing demand for all community organisations for transport. The BCM now operate a Patient Transport service for patients attending appointments at the local GP surgery. The BCM are currently examining the possibility of offering an additional shopping trip to a new shopping outlet.
