About the Project
We open up our playground to our parents during the school holidays, which means that they have a familiar, safe and secure place for their children with autism to come and play. Having appropriate storage will mean that we can also extend use of this equipment to our parents and their families.
About the Charity
Russet House is a special school for primary-age children with autism in Enfield. The Friends supports the school by raising additional funds to enable the children to access a wide range of extra-curricular activities, such as horse-riding, swimming and learning to ride bikes and scooters. Many of the children can find every day life challenging and these extended activities can help develop social and communication skills whilst learning how to manage their own behaviours. By fundraising for these activities, the Friends can help the children to experience activities that the may never get the opportunity to outside of school.
