Funds will provide our school with interactive screens in classrooms and a new bank of laptops.
About this cause
We are the Parent Teachers Association (PTA) for Bovingdon Primary Academy. Our key objective is to raise funds and run events to enrich the lives of the children at Bovingdon Primary Academy. To this end we organise and run children's cinema nights and school discos. We help pay for additional learning resources and guest presenters in assemblies, tailored theme days at the school. We assist with the cost of school trips if they are unlikely to go ahead without our assistance. And we run our annual Orchard Day, Christmas Bazaar and Summer Fayre where we encourage the children to help run the stalls. These events are designed to be lots of fun for the children, whilst raising money for additional resources for the school. We have purchased playground items and IT equipment in recent years.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Without additional funding from BAPA the school cannot improve its IT provision. The interactive screens and new laptops were requested by the teachers over a year ago to help improve lessons and provide opportunities for more children to use computers to enhance their learning. Children greatly benefit from being able to use laptops whilst learning, to delve deeper into a topic with the internet.
