Help us purchase kayaks to provide new opportunities for scouts from all sections of the community regardless of social status.
About this cause
The Orme Scout Group provides activities and holidays for all ages between 6 and 18. The group is split into 4 sections. Each section works towards the scout association awards and badges. These can vary from cooking, to musical instruments, camping and nights away to water sports and climbing. The group aims to provide skills and experiences that will benefit the youths in future lives, be it learning skills or gaining a passion for an activity. The Orme scout group is currently trying to fund the purchase or Kayak equipment to allow us to expand on the activities that we provide. This is aimed at developing skills and safety on water while seeking to develop the training of our older explorer scouts to become coaches and continue volunteering within the community.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Provide low and no cost opportunities and experiences to youths regardless of social status and background. Teach new skills on water, including lifesaving and survival on water skills. Develop team working and promote individual skill development. Provision of recognised and accredited training awards Development of youth instructor opportunity.
