Young People
We want to improve our outside entrance area to allow pedestrians and vehicles to access the hall without having to contend with the mud.
About this cause
To provide scouting facilities for 120 girls and boys between the ages of 6-18, and help these young people come to maturity as useful citizens. The children are from 15 different schools and have a huge range of abilities and backgrounds with about 10% having special needs. We are fully inclusive and have never turned anyone away-every time we are full we manage to find another volunteer to become a leader so that we can accommodate more young people. In addition we make the building available to be utilised by Rudgwick Pre-School and other local activity providers such as judo and dance classes.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The Rudgwick Scout Hut services a number of different groups within our community and there is a lot of traffic (wheeled and foot) each day. Currently parents and children from scouts, cubs,beavers,pre-school and local activity classes get dirty accessing the building especially when it is wet. It is the biggest complaint we receive from users so we would like to be able to address their concern.
