About this cause

Green’s Windmill Trust are a charity based in Sneinton, Nottingham, operating Green’s Windmill, a fully restored and working 19th Century tower mill. It helps preserve the UK’s milling heritage, promote George Green’s scientific reputation and further the educational and public activities of the Science Centre. In 2012, faced with closure from Nottingham City Council, the Trust became a registered charity to continue operations at the mill. A 40+ team of hard working and dedicated volunteers help to keep the mill open and operating. Green’s Windmill and Science Centre is a free entry site, providing an exceptional resource to the local community. This is especially important in a deprived suburb such as Sneinton. In 2016 38 school groups were welcomed while 40 community events took place.
