25th Sheffield (Ecclesfield) Scout Group
Young People
We want to replace our old and worn camping equipment so we can continue to offer the camping experience to all our young people.
About this cause
Scouts is a non-profit making community organisation run entirely by volunteers. We have over 115 young people who regularly attend the group from age 6-14. We run a varied programme of activities at the Scout Hut, with groups attending 4 nights a week and some weekends. We keep our costs low, so that scouting is affordable for children from all backgrounds regardless of gender, disability or ethnicity.Scouting is about experiencing adventure, facing up to new challenges, learning vital skills and having fun with friends. These experiences allow the children to have opportunities they might not get otherwise; it helps build self-esteem, personal development and confidence. Allows them to develop interests, discover what they are good at, what they enjoy, but most importantly to have FUN
How this cause brings people in the community together
By replacing and updating our camping equipment, this will not only benefit our current 115 children, but also all the children yet to join the scouting adventure over many more years. It will allow scouting in Ecclesfield to continue to offer children from our community exciting adventures, new challenges, to help them learn vital skills and most importantly to have fun and make new friends.
