We want to add raised flower beds in the playground, replace and add extra playground benches and provide wooden play equipment.
About this cause
Cowick Primary School PTA works closely with Cowick C of E primary school to enhance the education and social aspects of school life. We fundraise throughout the year to provide equipment outside the school budget, gifts for the children at special times of the year, help with costs of school trips and to provide social events. Following our successful bid in the last round of the Coop community fund, we are now looking to further enhance the outdoor space we are lucky to have at our small school. Our fundraising thus far has allowed us to make improvements to an area for sports, an area for wildlife awareness and a peaceful area for reflection. We want to make sure we meet every child's needs by providing a diverse range of opportunities.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Play times are an important part of the school day. The benches would allow the children to sit and chat with their friends more comfortably. The rises flower beds would add to the aesthetics as well as providing a learning opportunity regarding growing plants. The younger children would benefit from the new equipment as their learning is often carried out through structured play situations.
