We want to hire musicians to continue our series of free music events on our bandstand in Hilly Fields park.
About this cause
Our overall objectives are to protect the preservation, restoration, maintenance of the Hilly Fields Bandstand and improvement of Hilly Fields as a public park. To encourage both a greater recreational use by the public of the facilities available and high standards in the provision of such facilities. We also fund raise every year so we can host a series of free summer concerts on our bandstand, which is what we would put the money towards if we were successful with the Co-op. I am the Secretary and assistant Events co-ordinator for the Friends of Hilly Fields
How this cause brings people in the community together
We have been running these concerts for 16 years and they are widely anticipated each summer. We have had crowds of over 1500 people. The events are enjoyed by all ages and they show a great coming together of the community no matter what your background is. A comment made after the last concert: "It was a great afternoon, band were fab and wonderful to see the community having fun. Thank you"
