We want to continue our excellent, much needed and appreciated transport service to Ayr, Crosshouse, Glasgow and Edinburgh Hospitals.
About this cause
We help people of all ages. We provide transport to hospitals /clinics for medical appointments. Such appointments are 30, 60,, and even 100 miles from home .Clients are taken wherever and whenever necessary. Clients are taken to and from home to appointed place in comfort of private car and in as short timescale as is possible.As Health Board transport is very seldom available (is practically non-existent) this is a very much needed service in our town and surrounding area We are totally dependent on donations-everyone-, car drivers and office staff are volunteers. Only payment is to drivers for fuel.All overheads, rent, light, phone etc are dependent on grants/donations, such as yours.
How this cause brings people in the community together
When clients have health issues, the fact that CAN can provide the necessary transport , is a great relief to them and their family Some clients travel 60 miles & return /5 days per week /6 weeks. Community Action Network is really much neede in our area
