About this cause

The Vale of Lune Rugby Club provides the opportunity for all members of the community to participate in Sport and healthy activities. The club supports and encourages participation through the mini junior and colts sections with over 350 players (6 to 19 years of age), an adult section, girls 18 sections and recently formed ladies team. The Vale of Lune has its own squash club, cycling club and netball team all of whom provide regular activity for local people. We have strong links with local Archery and Cricket clubs. The current first team squad has 13 players to come through the mini junior section. Our objectives are to get more local people to participate in sport, host more showpiece events such as emerging schools and girls rugby festivals, whilst developing the facilities we offer.

How this cause brings people in the community together

The UK Resuscitation Council say that if you are more than 5 minutes away from medical help then local initiatives are essential. Early defibrillation can increase the survival chances of a person in cardiac arrest by as much as 50%. This facility will not only benefit the local sports clubs and people at functions but be available to the local community and the local emergency services.
