We want to buy new equipment and organise trips away for young people attending the club.
About this cause
Newtown Youth Club runs every week in the community wing were we provide a safe space for young people to meet friends and take part in activities. we have a membership of 36 young people aged between 10 and 14 at present and we hope to increase these numbers over the coming year. The club is run by a paid member of staff and a team of 3 volunteers who come each week to help with the various activities such as sports, crafts, organising fundraisers and trips, cooking, gardening , fitness and community involvement. The young people evaluate the club regularly and have a part to play in which activities should be put forward for the next program. the club also provides an inclusive and safe space for young people to meet with friends as well as take part in activities with others.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The group are keen and responsive to be involved in projects and activities and they already are involved in Dog Friendly Newtown and we are hoping to get some other young people involved in Newtown in Bloom and also be part of the first junior community council Young people are often seen negatively in the community and by becoming involved in these community initiatives is a positive experience
