About this cause
PlayBase is a non-profit charitable organisation providing quality educational resources to all Early Learning and Childcare professionals within Midlothian. The resources are for all children from birth to primary school and aim to support and encourage a child's learning through play. PlayBase members can borrow resources for periods up to 8 weeks. PlayBase Aims: • Provide quality resources to improve the learning through play opportunities and experiences of children • Provide quality resources to support a child's cognitive, emotional, social and physical development through play • Provide a range of appropriate educational resources to staff working with children • Provide an inclusive service of good quality educational resources through an affordable membership fee structure
How this cause brings people in the community together
We currently try to adapt our existing resources to support children with additional needs, this however is not always ideal and many children can be excluded from play as the resources do not meet their specific needs. Having dedicated resources suitable for children with ASN would enhance their play opportunities and experiences and allow them to feel included.
