About this cause

The CVSA is a volunteer based charity which provides sporting, social and leisure facilities for the local residents and wider community including local military bases. The pavilion is used to support the local youth club, craft and cookery classes for vulnerable adults, keep fit classes and community events such as junior football tournaments, jam festivals, parties and the annual firework display. There are changing rooms/shower/toilet facilities for senior/junior football and cricket clubs. Space to host regular management meetings of these various clubs. The sport fields run to a 5-acre grassed area and BMX track and the home base for the local cricket and football teams. Because we are a volunteer based charity the running costs are kept to a minimum which are passed onto the users.

How this cause brings people in the community together

At the moment the grass cutting equipment when not in use is stored in an old shipping container. This makes it difficult to maintain in good working order. By providing the extension to the existing premises we will be able to provide a secure dry area in which to keep and maintain the grass cutters and other equipment. This will also free up valuable storage space in the pavilion for user groups
