Selby C. P. School 90th Birthday Celebration

We want to involve former pupils in the production of a book to celebrate the history of the school and to have a party to mark the event.
About this cause
We are a Primary School situated in the middle of a large Council estate in Selby. We are a school of around 360 children with a high level of social deprivation. Our main objective in school is to give all of our children the best possible learning opportunities. We have a School Council which provides a 'voice' in the major events in our learning community. Together we raise money for deserving causes, as well as raising funds for our school. We try to instil a true sense of belonging across school, involving the local and wider community as much as possible. Hopefully we can teach our children that together people can make a difference, both locally and globally.
How this cause brings people in the community together
It will bring together generations of local people. It will help children to realise what a community is and how important that is. We hope to help all parties to show mutual respect for each other and, in the process, provide a lasting tribute for future generations. It will involve our local branch of Co-Op and will hopefully foster a good relationship in the community.
