About this cause
The Wye and Usk Foundation protect and restore rivers, river habitats and the species associated with them. We also educate people on how to look after their local rivers and streams, including providing education sessions to schools and community groups. We aim to ensure the best possible status for our rivers and encourage people to engage with rivers, and to have fun in the process!
How this cause brings people in the community together
If we understand the natural environment better, we can care for it better. We can also begin to see how our rivers can contribute to cohesion and potentially attract visitors to the area. Cleaner rivers mean more wildlife to watch, and giving a little bit of time to nature means nature can give so much back to us.
